Hi Flin, I replied to your email aswell, but in case others are interested: To see an example of this, you can open one of our example timelines, "Murder on the Orient Express" (you can do this via the Examples tab on the Welcome Screen). This is a timeline for the novel by Agatha Christie. When opened, the timeline is already grouped by Story. As you scroll down the page, you will see headings for each Story entity (eg. "Hector MacQueen's Testimony"). To see an example of this, if you choose the event "MacQueen sleeps" in the group "Hector MacQueen's testimony" and drag it to the group below ("The Conductor's Testimony"), you will see the event get added to that group, but remain in the original one aswell. This means that this event now has both the "Hector MacQueen Testimony" story entity and the "The Conductor's Testimony" entity, as the entity type allows multiple entities per event. Jess
Hi Jess, Thank you! I'm WAAAYYYY out in another timezone. Just getting started in the morning here. Let me give that a try. Sincerely, Flin
Ah! Yep. Got it. So easy! :D!!! Among the templates, which others support multiple entities per event?
Hi, Whether you can have multiple entities per event or not depends on the entity type. Most templates will have at least one entity type that have this property. You can find this out in Timeline Settings (the cog icon). Open a new file with the template, open Timeline Settings and click Entity Types to expand the menu. You will see a list of entity types (eg. Character) for that template. If you click on each one, the panel on the right will show you the roles for each entity type (eg. Participant, Witness). Underneath each role is a check box "Allow multiple per event". If this is ticked, then you can have multiple entities of this type for this role for that event. (eg. multiple characters can be a Participant for an event). If you wish to have multiple entities and the box is not ticked, then you can tick it and click OK to add this functionality. Jess
Hi, Really GREAT! When I see how well you and your team have conceived of this app I feel impressed. Thank you, Jess! Sincerely, Flin
